We are delighted to be able to write a reference for Megan Palla, whom we have known for over 15 years.

She has house and cat-sat for us in the past and has been most reliable both in terms of looking after our home and caring for our cat.

She is very experienced in the handling and training of dogs and is equally at home with other pets. Her own dog is the best-trained and behaved dog we have come across. Megan is also very good at dealing with difficult animals. Megan is very honest and trustworthy and we have no hesitation in recommending her to you.

This is a reference for Megan Palla. I have known Megan since 1993. She has since that time been a close friend and a person I have found to be of utmost integrity.

I have known Megan also as a student when she undertook Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling at the University of Southampton of which I am Director. This she successfully completed. She has also enhanced her dog-training skills and for several years ran classes with Elizabeth Kershaw, author of Go Click.

With respect to Megan and house-sitting, she has for many years looked after my house when I have been away. She has also looked after my animals. In addition I have recommended Megan to house sit for my parents and their neighbours. This she has done successfully and has been asked back on several occasions.

I recommend her most highly.

With reference to Megan Palla, I should like to support her as a house sitter.

I have known Megan both as a friend and as a colleague for the past 15 years. We originally met as fellow students on the Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling courses. Upon completion Megan ran dog training classes in my area and later when her assistant moved, joined my training classes as an Instructor. She stayed with the classes until my retirement in September 2003 and during that time was entirely professional in her dealings with both the students and the other assistants. She was able to take on individual dogs who were not suitable for class training and had a high success rate in these cases with both behaviour modification and training.

On several occasions, when I have had to be away from home, she has looked after my house and my dogs and I have found her to be totally trustworthy in this capacity. She was particularly helpful at the time that I had to leave an elderly dog in her care who was unwell. She made sensible decisions about when to call in the vet and gave every care to the dog.

Megan is also artistically talented and has enjoyed success in her work as a web designer. She is of a cheerful disposition, resourceful and kind. She is always willing to offer her help where it is needed. Her experience and qualifications make her especially suited to this type of work and her empathy with animals is undoubted.

Anyone employing her as a house sitter can be confident of her reliability in this employment.

This is just a short note to say that Megan, looked after our house, flock of chickens, nosy neighbours and all that goes with it in a very competent manner.

When we returned from three weeks holiday, we would not have known that anyone had been in the house, apart from the fact that some of the cobwebs had vanished! Which was sorely needed.

I can thoroughly recommend her to anyone needing house, animals etc. looked after.

Everyone says great things about Megan and so they should. I, however, would like to say a few words about Twiglet, Megan's dog.

Twiglet is a gentle, quiet, well behaved, gorgeous dog. He and Megan came to take care of my very precious cat, Pizza. Pizza is getting on in years and likes a quiet life - and that is what she got with Twiglet. Twiglet behaved impeccably and, even if they didn't become best friends, they lived in harmony and Pizza was taken care of wonderfully.

It might be my imagination, but I think Pizza missed them when they left.

I can highly recommend Twiglet (and Megan!) to anyone who needs to leave their cat in safe paws (and hands!)
